Who we are
KodaCade is run by KodaCay LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company, which is responsible for your personal information. Questions about privacy: support@kodacade.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, display name, friend code and password (stored only as a secure hash by our login provider).
- Activity: your wishlist, library, friends, reviews and notifications.
- Purchases: what you bought, when, and the amount. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see them.
- Downloads: which game and when, to prevent abuse.
- Developers: studio details and listings. Identity and bank details for payouts go directly to Stripe, which handles them under Stripe's privacy policy.
- Fraud prevention (developers): to stop one person from opening several developer accounts, we keep scrambled (one-way hashed) copies of your browser cookie, IP address, email address, and, from Stripe, your verified name and a code that identifies your payout bank account. We never see your bank account number.
- Technical: basic request logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept by our hosting providers for security and to fix problems.
Why
To run your account, deliver the games you buy, process payments and refunds, pay developers, keep the store safe, and answer your questions. We email you about your account, purchases and games, never marketing unless you ask for it. We don't sell your personal information and we don't show ads.
Who helps us
- Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payments and payouts), Cloudflare (game file storage), GitHub (malware scanning of uploaded games), Resend (sending account and notification emails), Google Workspace (our support inbox, if you email us).
- They process data only to provide their service to us.
Cookies and tracking
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to recognize your browser for fraud prevention. No tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't let other companies track you across sites through KodaCade. Because we don't track you, browser “Do Not Track” signals don't change anything here.
How long we keep it, and where
- We keep your account information while your account is open. When it is closed we delete it, except purchase and payout records, which tax law requires us to keep (usually about 7 years).
- Your information is stored in the United States by the services listed above. Connections are encrypted, and access is limited to the people who run KodaCade. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
Children
KodaCade is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, email support@kodacade.com and we will delete it. We don't sell anyone's personal information or use it for targeted ads, including teens'.
Your choices
- You can change your display name and friend code on your profile at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or for your account to be deleted, by emailing support@kodacade.com. We keep purchase records as long as tax law requires.
- You can ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Depending on where you live, you may have more rights (for example under GDPR, CCPA or the New Jersey Data Privacy Act). Contact us to use them.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it applies.
